ISPS seeks to create a database of suitable candidates in the academic and co-curricular fields to fill positions when vacancies occur at ISPS.

Our openings are for those who seek to work for ISPS in Current Academic Year.

Teacher (Academic)

ISPS invites applications for academic teaching staff in all subjects and for all grade/levels, to fill any open positions for various subjects and also to maintain a database of Yogis and Yoginis with a desire to teach at ISPS. Academic teaching positions are full time paid positions. In his or her role as Teacher, the established Yogi or Yogini will work closely with the Principal, Academic Counsellor and Care Mentors in the overall care and well-being of each child, and in creating a loving environment for spiritual growth and educational development as Sahaja Yogis and Yoginis.

Specifically, the Teacher will plan, organize, teach and examine course material according to the curriculum and class level requirements. He or she will track student’s progress in the class, including behaviour, attendance and so on. Each semester, he or she will also prepare an evaluation for each child. He or she will be expected to prepare lessons that are challenging and engaging, and which incorporate appropriate technology where possible. The Teacher will work closely with the Academic Counsellor to identify those students experiencing difficulties as well as those working well above class level, and adapt the curriculum accordingly. Applicants will have a mastery of their teaching subject, as well as a love of children and a keen desire to help them enjoy learning.

Requirements for this position:

  • B.Ed. and BA or BSc (M.A, M.Sc. preferable for upper year courses)
  • Teaching experience (preferred)
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Minimum two year commitment

 

Teacher (Activities)

ISPS invites applications for teaching staff for skill based activity subjects such as computers, music, arts, dance, drama, woodcraft and sport, for all grade levels, to fill  any open positions as well as to maintain a database of Yogis and Yoginis with a desire to teach at ISPS. Some non-academic positions are full time while others last one or two terms. In his or her role as activity Teacher, the established Yogi or Yogini will work closely with the Principal, Academic Counsellor and Care Mentors in the overall care and wellbeing of each child, and in creating a loving environment for their spiritual growth and artistic and/or physical development as Sahaja Yogis and Yoginis.

Specifically, the non-academic Teacher will plan, organize, teach and examine students in their field of study. He or she will support students as they work towards an exhibition, performance, production or sports/games day as an integral part of the course of study. He or she will track each student’s progress in the class, including behaviour, attendance and so on. Every semester, he or she will prepare evaluations for each child. Applicants will have a love of children and a strong desire to share with them a deep respect for and enjoyment of the arts, crafts, and sport and other extra-curricular activities.

Dorm Supervisor

ISPS invites applications for Dorm Supervisors to create a database to source as and when a vacancy occurs in school.

A Dorm Supervisor oversees several dorms and is responsible for the Dorm welfare team of Uncle and Aunties, also individually known as Dorm Welfare Managers, and the children residing in the dorms in his or her care. ISPS is looking for Yogis and Yoginis from around the world who can commit to these yearlong paid positions. In his or her role as Dorm Supervisor, the established Yogi or Yogini will work closely with the Principal, Medical Team, Care Mentors, Vibrational Care Team and Welfare Managers in the overall care and well-being of each child, and in creating a loving environment for their spiritual, physical and social development as Sahaja Yogis and Yoginis. The role will include administrative responsibilities associated with the dorms allocated to them. The Dorm Supervisor may be required to communicate with the parents for some matters, as and when necessary. The Dorm Supervisor is responsible for and will support the Welfare Manager of each Dorm to help perform his or her duties efficiently.

Welfare Managers (Dorm Aunties and Uncles)

A  Welfare Manager (Dorm Auntie or Uncle) acts as a mother or father to the children assigned to them. The Welfare Manager will work to cultivate a close relationship with each child; establishing a loving and trusting rapport through which the child will grow in self-confidence, security and enjoyment of their out-of-classroom time at ISPS. The Welfare Manager looks after every aspect of the child’s day to day life and physical wellbeing, and support the child in his or her movement towards greater self-reliance.

He or she will keep careful track of each child’s physical, social and emotional health and serve as an excellent example of life as an adult Sahaja Yogi or Yogini. The Dorm Welfare Manager will work under the guidance of the Dorm Supervisor. Applicants should have a love of children, the ability to enforce basic dorm guidelines and a willingness to have fun! We particularly welcome applications from male Sahaja Yogis to work as Welfare Managers (Dorm Uncles) for our older boys.
